Snow Day!

Snow Day!
We had a great time this last Friday playing in the largest snowfall ever recorded in the history of this area.

Mark and Makenna look for the perfect place to make our snowman.

We just couldn't believe how deep the snow was! All in all it was about 14 inches in our area.

Makenna hit me in the head with this little snowball. We talked about aiming below the shoulders after that!
Micah loved the snow.
Here is our snowman! He is complete with Mark's Sooners visor.

I love these pictures of the babies patting the snowman like Daddy.

After making snow angels, snowballs, and a snowman, it was time to head to the park across the street for some texas style sledding.
I don't know if you can tell from this picture, but Micah was laughing big belly laughs all the way to the park. He thought the ride in the wagon was a big treat.
It took us a little bit to get our path etched out in the snow.
Micah LOVED sledding. He would laugh all the way down every time.

Micah went solo once with Daddy right behind him.

It just wouldn't be a complete story without a couple of videos of the sledding fun...

I couldn't resist getting this pic of Makenna walking back up the hill with her "sled."

Titus had a great time with us. He ate so much snow. It was so funny. Also, he stayed pretty close to Micah at all times. Titus is such a sweet dog.

I love these kids!

First Haircut!

It was time for Micah's first haircut, which was also the week of his first birthday. Micah went to Daddy's haircut place to get a cool new "do."

It was so sweet that Daddy held him during his first haircut. Micah was very good but Very, Very Squirmy!

And here is the new Micah, as handsome as ever!

Abilene Trip

We wanted to make one more trip to Abilene before the end of the summer. Makenna needed some "Neeny time," and we wanted to have some fun with all of the family in A-town.

Ryan, Laura, and Branson came to town, too. Bop and Granny took us all to the Abilene Zoo. The Abilene Zoo is perfect because it is just the right size for little kids.

Feeding the giraffes is one of those wonderful things about the Abilene Zoo. It is so neat that Mark and I share the same childhood memories as the memories Makenna is now making.

This was a recurring theme at the zoo.....Makenna "directing" Branson. Thankfully, Branson loves any and all attention he gets from the "Little Momma."

Here is my sweet Laura. She is the best mommy. We have become such good friends. I love her!

Granny and Bop are doing some remodeling at their house.....please excuse the mess! For the grandkids, it was the best arrangement...no furniture, just a wide open space to spread toys and play.

We went to Hardin-Simmons one day. It was like the car just pulled itself into the stadium parking lot.

I am still so proud of Mark's football career at HSU. He still holds lots of records there, although, he has since been passed up in most career points in school history.

Memories of good times....

The reason we went out to Hardin-Simmons was to celebrate Meme's birthday in style with a little game of bowling at the Student Center bowling alley. We had the place all to ourselves. It was so much fun. Meme said it was the best birthday she ever remembers. Happy Birthday Meme!

Here is Meme drinking a "Monster" energy drink....ok, not really, Mark and Ryan just thought it would be funny to make it look like she was drinking a Monster. I don't think she knew that they were being silly with her.

Well, there was an incident during the bowling game...I was drawing my bowling ball back to bowl, and it hit my knee, which in turn caused me to fall to the floor in writhing pain. If that were not enough, I dropped the ball, which then rolled back and hit me square in the nose. My sweet husband did not come to my rescue....he just picked up the camera. Everyone else just pointed and laughed....that is, except Branson and Makenna, who became very upset at the sight of my pain.

Everyone had fun bowling.

While in Abilene, our sweet little Makenna turned 5. I can't believe how quickly 5 years has flown.

As a special treat for her birthday, Neeny and Poppa took Makenna to the pizza place to play games, and Paul took her to a movie.
