Butterfly Flutterby

We went to the City of Grapevine's Butterfly Flutterby on Saturday. It was so much fun! Our friend Olivia had a pre-parade breakfast, and then we all walked to the parade together. Anyone wearing wings (with a parent) could walk in the parade down main street. It was the sweetest thing!

After the parade, at the end of main street, there was a festival of sorts. They had face painting and clowns making balloon animals and other activities. Each child got to go up on stage (with a group of other kids) and release a Monarch butterfly at some point during the morning. This is the time of year when the Monarchs fly south through the City of Grapevine on their way to Mexico for the winter. Makenna absolutely loved all of the butterflies.
