Puke and Juke

Yipee!
Irving MacArthur 37, North Garland 7

Lady Lou didn't make the game tonight. We went to eat lunch with Daddy today at Chick-fil-A, and she lost her lunch all over the floor (and down my arm) right before we left. She had a hard day. Neeny and Poppa took good care of her while I went to cheer on Mark and the Cardinals.

When we got home from Chick-fil-A, Makenna cried for her Daddy and said, "I want both of ya'll to be home when I get sick." I said, "Oh, I'm sorry Makennna. Daddy is so, so sad that he can't be home with you." Makenna said, "But he isn't going to cry like a girl." She is obviously getting an adequate preschool education at Mother's Day Out.

Both Offense and Defense had terrific nights again this week. Watch for our running back, Edward Wesley, to be playing college ball next year. You should see him run! He will juke out a defender and just keep cruising. Our quarterback does a great job running, too. The icing on the cake tonight was when one player asked to address the team after the game, and his purpose in speaking was to thank the coaches for all of their hard work and care. It was a neat moment.

Dallas Morning News:

Wesley, who ran for 263 yards in MacArthur's opening victory last week, led all rushers with 116 yards including a 30-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Foreman threw a 45-yard scoring strike to Darrin Moore to put MacArthur ahead 7-0. Moore caught five passes for 140 yards all in the first half. North Garland sophmore quarterback Patrick Timberlake ran for a 3-yard touchdown cut MacArthur's lead to 13-7 in the second quarter before Will Arrington booted a 28-yard fieldgoal in the closing minutes to give MacArthur a nine point lead at half time.
