TCU Game!

We were so pumped to get to go to TCU's game on Saturday night. Kelly started as a True Freshman at Defensive Tackle. We also got to see former MacArthur player, Offensive Lineman, Josh Vernon; former Colleyville Heritage Player, one of my all-time favorites of Mark's players, starting Kicker, Senior, and face of 2007 TCU football tickets (his picture is on the tickets!), Chris Manfredini; and, last but not least, lifelong Smith family friend, starting Senior Safety, David Roach. Also, a great surprise was seeing one of my favorite cheerleaders from when I coached freshman cheerleading at CHHS, Shaina Hodgkins, cheering right in front of us for most of the second half.

It was so awesome getting to watch Kelly play.

Almost the entire MacArthur Football Coaching Staff made it to the game. A few stayed late to give Kelly a few hugs and handshakes.

Here is Manfredini kicking an Extra Point. We were on the first row, 10 yard line, on the end by the scoreboard.

Kelly looked ginormous out there. No one would have guessed that he is a freshman. He recovered a fumble late in the game, but it was debated and eventually called back. He made a great play, though.

Shaina broke a few rules during the game to take a quick pic with Makenna. It was so sweet of her to offer. One of the other cheerleaders took the picture for us.

David Roach is such a great player. We got to catch up with the entire Roach Family. Rod and Tony are living in Mansfield. Mark loved getting to see Daddy Roach, a pastor and bitty basketball coach that made a huge impact on who Mark is as a coach today.

Here is Manfredini warming up. It made me think back to the glory days when I used to get so nervous watching Mark warm up for his kicks.

We were decked out in purple! Makenna was so excited when we got to the game. She said, "Everyone is wearing purple, Momma!" It is her favorite color, of course.
