So I was telling Makenna that God loves her so much. She said, "How much?" I said, "Forever and always, no matter what." She said, "God loves me like my Daddy loves me!..... Is God like my Daddy?"
Wow. Mark always tells her this little phrase: "I'll love you forever and always, no matter what." I didn't fully realize the impact that it has. Although parents are not perfect or any such thing, God did make us in His image. Our Father in Heaven wants us to be a picture for our children so that they can better understand who He is. God does love us forever and always, no matter what, even when we fall short on our responsiblity to portray His image. What an amazing thing! I am so thankful for Makenna's Heavenly Father and her Daddy, and I am thankful for the truth that they love her forever and always, no matter what.
