Happy Fourth Birthday, Makenna!

Makenna started her special day by going to her weekly gymnastics class. She then requested a special McD's chicken nuggets Happy Meal for lunch. After a great nap, it was time for her party at the Firehouse Art Center. She is still too young to attend classes here, but they have a precious lady who does birthday parties for all ages. Makenna was SO EXCITED about her art party!

While everyone was arriving, the teacher had some coloring pages and markers out. This was definitely the perfect start to any party for Makenna! She loves to color!

Next it was time to paint.... The teacher wanted to know what kind of project we would like to do. I expressed that we would like something that could be a frameable keepsake of some sort. Our theme for the art projects was "Under the Sea."

The kids were able to paint a fish and a matboard to surround the fish. Makenna liked mixing the blue and pink paints to make purple.... Big Surprise! ha! The teacher had a model and suggested that they create white foam at the edge of the sand and water on the mat board. Makenna decided that she wanted waves everywhere in her sea. She definitely knows what she wants!

With little ones and paints, the moms were a little more involved than I had planned, but it worked out really well. The moms seemed to have fun with it all, too.

Here is the teacher helping Makenna put a flip flop on her sandy beach.....

I had to post quite a few pictures of all of the girls. It was so cute to see how they all interacted with one another. I kept thinking the whole time.... my little baby is 4! She is acting like a little girly girl, now.

Katie and Makenna are so much alike. She and Maddie are sisters, and their daddy is a coach with Mark. Maddie and Makenna are the same age, and Katie a little over a year older.

The party gift was a personalized bag for each friend with some water color paints inside. The bags were colorful and fun and festive as decoration. I ordered them online, and they came in much bigger than I had imagined, but they were still cute. The girls were going around saying that they had "Momma purses." It was so funny!

Here is the whole crew for a group shot. They are just PRECIOUS! From left to right.... Katie, Bella, Maddie, Makenna, Elaina, Jake
