"Proclaim Liberty"
Makenna has been doing her cheerleading "liberty" pose for us all week. I figured that a picture of it would be fitting for the 4th of July. I decided to look up the word liberty and where it appears in the Bible. It only appears one time. If you have a chance, look up Leviticus 25:9-11. That is the only passage where liberty is found. The interesting thing about it, though, is that the passage also contains a very important date. Do you see it? Therefore, I find it all the more interesting and think that we should all take the time to remind ourselves that Jesus has become the atonement for our sins, and as such we should proclaim the liberty in our lives that Jesus has given us. He has set us free from our sins and given us the power in his name to be set free from the power of sin. Do you proclaim liberty today?

Our 4th of July got off to a great start. I found out when I woke up that Arlington was having a 4th of July parade, so I went in and shook Mark until he woke up shouting, "Get up! There's a parade! We have to hurry!" Since Mark lives for the unexpected and spontaneous, you all know that this was just up his alley. ha. ha. He was a good sport, and we ended up having lots of fun.
After nap time, we went to the pool, and Makenna got to swim and swim and swim. She had a blast. Later, we met up with the Basils at Fellowship Church's 4th of July festivities. They had bounce houses and a concert and all sorts of fun. We also got to hang out with one of Makenna's friends from Sonshine school, Reagan. We had more friends join up with us for the fireworks. The church put on a great fireworks show. Sadly, Makenna didn't see a single sparkle. She was terrified of the noise. She still had a great time, though.
