Disappointment is a difficult emotion. Mark and I have endured a roller coaster of emotions the last week, and disappointment seems to be the most difficult of them all. Disappointment is sin, though. I'll call it what it is. When we are disappointed, we are disappointed in something. It is a sin to have hope in anything besides God. God is to be the source of all our hope, and He works all things together for our good, knows the bigger picture, and wants what is best for us. Therefore, it seems that Mark and I shifted our focus from hoping in God to hoping in something. That is a sin. We are so thankful that God has allowed us to recognize this. Mark and I praise God for his continued provision, mercy, and hope that he so generously gives.
Baby Branson's shower was nice. There was a large turn-out of ladies. Baby Branson got lots of cool things and lots and lots of baseball duds!! He is going to look soooooo studly!! Laura was so gracious to let Makenna help her open almost every gift. Makenna looked like Vanna White, showing off the presents. It was so funny!
It was fun getting to have everyone at Purple House (Makenna's pet name for our new house) for a post-Mother's Day slumber party. We got to go to the Grapevine Main Street Days festival on Saturday night and church on Sunday morning. Pastor Robert preached about prejudice. We had tons of fun with the slumber party. It was good to be together!

Makenna's funny sayings this week:
We were all in bed, with Makenna smushed in the middle, early one morning.
Makenna: "Daddy-- you smell like Daddy" (with a sweet smile)
Mark: "What does Daddy smell like?"
Makenna: "Daddy stinks."
Michelle: "Do you want Mommy to get a big tummy like Laura and have a baby in there so that you can have a baby at your house?"
Makenna: "Mommy, you already have a big tummy."
Makenna and Megan get ready for Baby Branson's shower. Megan begins putting on her white wedge sandals that match perfectly with her outfit for the shower.
Makenna: "Don't wear those. I don't like those. Wear the yellow ones."
Makenna was at Sonshine for the last day of the year for her little preschool. She sat next to Cameron, the kid who brings the giant spread for lunch every day, enough to feed the whole class. Makenna eyed his food while the teachers watched. She reached over and gingerly took a graham cracker, broke it in half, put half back in front of Cameron, and began taking a bite of the half she kept. At this point, she sees her teachers watching her.
Makenna: "It is so nice of Cameron to share, isn't it?" :)
